🆘 Help choosing Wedding Ceremony Music !!

Choosing songs for your ceremony can be a sticking point for some couples. Let me help! 😎

More or less any piece of music ranging from Pachelbel’s Canon to AC/DC can be performed to some degree on the classical guitar. Some pieces work better than others of course, but within reason I can tailor the song to suit the different parts of a wedding ceremony and/or reception as appropriate. I hope this short guide will offer some inspiration and help you choose music for your day.

Typically a slower piece is best suited to the aisle walk and register signing, with something more upbeat for the recessional. Having performed all sorts from Foo Fighters to Nessun Dorma I welcome requests - these are merely a selection of my tried and tested recommendations.

Aisle Walk

Slow and atmospheric, this will be a short section of a song usually lasting 2mins or less - along the lines of these recordings below.

Bridal March (Mendellsohn)
Canon (Pachelbel)
Can’t Help Falling in Love (Elvis)
Your Love (Keeps Lifting Me Higher) (Jackie Wilson) Great as a slow version!
Symphony (Clean Bandit w/Zara Larsson)
Everlong (Foo Fighters)
God Only Knows (Beach Boys)

Register Signing

Slow again, but with more time to flesh out a piece over a longer period.

Symphony (Clean Bandit w/Zara Larsson)
Is This Love? (Bob Marley)
Let’s Stay Together (Al Green)
God Only Knows (Beach Boys)
Let's Dance (David Bowie)

Recessional/Exit

Upbeat, straight into a chorus for couple and guest exit.

Isn't She Lovely (Stevie Wonder)
Your Love (Keeps Lifting Me Higher) (Jackie Wilson)
I’m Yours (Jason Mraz)
Move On Up (Curtis Mayfield)
All You Need is Love (Beatles)
Fly Me to the Moon (Frank Sinatra)
Highway to Hell (AC/DC) if you’re feeling brave and ironic then I’m up for it!

Pretty much all of the above can fit anywhere in the ceremony, but generally speaking slower for aisle/register and upbeat for exit. I hope this has offered some inspiration in terms of choosing your ceremony music - please feel free to direct any more questions via email and very best of luck with the rest of your wedding planning!
